Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This policy describes how Canada Cashback Monitor handles personal information in accordance with Canada’s PIPEDA, Quebec’s Law 25, and the EU/UK GDPR for any visitors from those regions.
1. Information We Collect
Canada Cashback Monitor collects minimal information to provide and improve our service:
- Usage data, including pages visited, search queries, referrals, and clicks
- Device and network information, including browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and IP address
- Cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels, and web beacons
- Account information that you choose to provide, such as your email address and saved alerts
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain our service
- Improve user experience
- Analyze usage patterns
- Measure performance, prevent abuse, and display or measure advertising where permitted
3. Cookies & Consent
Essential cookies needed to sign in, protect the service, and remember basic preferences are always active. Google Consent Mode defaults analytics and all advertising signals to denied. Our site banner controls optional analytics only; accepting it does not grant consent for personalized advertising. You can decline or change this analytics choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
4. Google Analytics & Google AdSense
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and may use Google AdSense to fund eligible pages. When these services are permitted to operate, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, collect IP addresses and device or browser identifiers, and process page, interaction, and ad-delivery information. They use this information to provide, secure, measure, limit, and personalize services and advertising according to the consent signals available to them.
Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google’s partner-sites privacy explanation. Where Google requires a certified consent-management platform, including for certain visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising consent must be collected through Google’s certified message before personalized ads can be served. Our own analytics banner is not used for that purpose.
5. Affiliate Links & Third Parties
Some links redirect through cashback, financial-product, or affiliate partners. We may receive a commission if you follow a link or complete an eligible action, at no added cost to you. A partner may receive referral information and then process information under its own privacy policy. We do not control third-party sites, their eligibility decisions, or their privacy practices.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information. However, no internet transmission is completely secure.
7. Your Rights
You can, at any time:
- Access & export your data — “Download my data” on your account page.
- Delete your account and all associated data — “Delete my account” on your account page.
- Withdraw consent to marketing emails — the unsubscribe link in any email, or remove your alerts.
- Correct your information or ask us how it’s used by contacting our privacy officer.
We respond to verified requests within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (or your provincial/regional authority).
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page.
